‘Link Community Development’s goal is to improve access to quality education in sub-Saharan Africa and to enhance global citizenship learning in Scotland.
We work with governments, schools and communities in rural Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, South Africa and Uganda. The aim is to build the capacity of local people to improve school performance. To support this we work in partnership with local government, facilitate training for teachers and school managers, support Mother Groups who champion girls’ education in their communities, and provide access to solar powered IT equipment. Lessons learned from our projects at the local level are used to inform national policy.
In Scotland we help teachers to bring international education to life so young people can develop as global citizens’.
